The Conners star Sara Gilbert and her wife Linda Perry have separated after five years of marriage, according to a new report. The 44-year-old actress and producer filed documents for a legal separation with minor children on Friday in Los Angeles.
According to TMZ, Gilbert says in the legal paperwork that the date of separation was August 13th, and she asked the court not to award spousal support to herself or Perry.

The couple tied the knot in March 2014 in a ceremony with a rock concert theme. Perry, 54, is a singer and songwriter who is best known for being the lead singer of the 4 Non Blondes who had a massive hit in the 1990s with What’s Up. She is also the founder of two record labels and has written or produced songs for numerous artists, including Pink, Gwen Stefani, Christina Aguilera, Alicia Keys, Celine Dion, Ariana Grande, and Adele.
A year after they got married, Gilbert gave birth to their son Rhodes Emilio Gilbert Perry. The former co-host of The Talk also has two children from her previous relationship with TV producer Ali Adler.
Back in April, Gilbert announced that she was leaving The Talk so she could spend more time with her wife and children because her life was out of balance.
“I’ve decided that it’s time for me to leave the show at the end of this season,” Gilbert said at the time. “I obviously love it here, and like I said, this was extremely difficult. Last season, I did The Conners and was also producing and [hosted] here.I loved it and felt totally empowered, but also, if I’m being honest about it, my life was slightly out of balance. I wasn’t able to spend as much time with my three kids as I’d like, or time for myself.”

Now that Gilbert and Perry have separated, some fans believe there have been signs for months that the relationship was coming to an end. And, they think the biggest indicator was Gilbert’s decision to leave The Talk.
One fan wrote on social media that Gilbert must have left a job she loves to try to save the relationship, but wasn’t able to make it work because it was too late. The fan added that when someone in a relationship is all work, it pushes people away.
Another fan wrote that the news of the separation was sad, but they saw it coming for the last year. Still, they were hoping it wasn’t true.

Just last month, Linda Perry gushed about Sara Gilbert, saying that she couldn’t be more proud of her wife because she created her own thing [The Conners] and it was finally blossoming and shining.
